The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a competitive examination for the recruitment of Group C posts across various central government departments. This includes the roles of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO) for multiple ministries, constitutional/statutory bodies, and tribunals under the Government of India.
This is one of the most awaited recruitment drives for candidates aspiring for a secure central government job after 10+2 (Intermediate).

Pay Scale:
Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 - Rs.63,200).
Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100) and Level-5(Rs. 29,200 - Rs. 92,300).
Data Entry Operator, Grade A: Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100).
Eligibility Criteria of SSC CHSL Recruitment
Nationality:
A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Education Qualification:
- DEO/ DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture and SSC: 12th Passed in Science with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
- LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry): 12th passed from a recognized Board or University.
Age Limit:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 27 years
Age Relaxation:
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- PwBD (UR): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- ESM: 3 years

- UR/ OBC: Rs. 100/-
- SC/ ST/ PwBD/ ESM/ Women: Nil

Scheme of SSC CHSL Examination
The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers:
- Tier-I
- Tier-II
Marks scored by the candidates in Computer Based Examination, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the procedure published by the Commission and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
Tier-I Examination
Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set in English, Hindi and any language opted by the candidate in the application form.
